Tournaments take entries and money from real bowlers, so the first time an account creates one we check who is behind it. From Organize, Run a tournament opens a short application: your organization, association, center, or own name; your role; a phone number; an optional website and USBC or center affiliation; and a paragraph about the events you run. A moderator reviews it, usually within a day or two, and you get an email either way. A declined application says why, and you can apply again.
Already verified with no application: moderators and site admins, anyone whose center claim was approved, and any account that already runs a tournament here. Leagues need no verification.
